Linking to and Reprinting Copyrighted Information from JobWeb

General Guidelines

JobWeb is a publication of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). All NACE publications—printed and online—are copyrighted. Unless otherwise specified on the article, page, or document, you need permission to photocopy or reprint an article or section of an article. You must also request permission to use any of the NACE logos, including the JobWeb logo, in any manner.

Linking to JobWeb

Generally, you do not need to request reprint permission if you want to use a text link to a page on one of the NACE web sites, including JobWeb, as long as your link doesn't "frame" a web site page (include the page within a frame so that it appears the page is on your web site rather than on a NACE web site). NACE reserves the right, however, to revoke permission at any time for text links.

Obtaining Permission to Reprint NACE's Copyrighted Materials

Depending on how the materials will be used, NACE usually grants permission for a limited amount of photocopying and/or reprinting of NACE's copyrighted materials by its members. In some cases, NACE will allow nonmembers to make photocopies of copyrighted materials for a fee. A fee may be charged when materials are reprinted in a book or magazine. However, NACE reserves the right to refuse reprint requests.

All requests must be made in writing using our online form, by e-mail, or by fax to 610/868-0208. Please include your e-mail address so that we can reply to your inquiry. Please allow minimum of five business days for your request to be processed.

We need: Your name, title, organization, phone number, and e-mail address, plus:

  • the article headline,
  • the name and date of the publication (or URL if online),
  • where and how the article will be photocopied or reprinted,
  • the intended use,
  • the number of copies being made, and
  • whether there will be a charge for those copies.

Permission grants are for one-time use only. You must re-request permission to reprint for any additional reprinting/photocopying beyond your original request. This includes making additional photocopies or reprinting an article even if you plan to reprint the same article in the same manner first specified.

NACE members who want to reprint articles or other NACE materials may complete the permission to reprint form.

Getting Permission for Electronic Reproduction

In general, NACE grants limited permission for electronic reproduction of its materials to NACE members only, including republishing print or electronic articles online in an internal newsletter or attaching a PDF of an article to an e-mail for dissemination within the NACE member organization.

IN general, NACE does not grant permission to reproduce its materials via:

  • Republishing on a CD-ROM or via any other electronic medium,
  • Reprinting an article in an e-mail,
  • Posting an article to an e-mail discussion group (e.g., a listserv),
  • Republishing an article or document on a web site, even when that web site is password-protected, or
  • Republishing an article from JobWeb, NACEWeb, Spotlight Online, or the NACE Journal on a web site.

Reasons for Denial

NACE reserves the right to refuse any requests to reprint NACE materials for any reason. We do not grant reprint permission for reprints used as part of sales, marketing, or promotional brochures or packages. In addition, there may be a charge for use of NACE material. There are restrictions and limits on photocopying and reprinting. Allow at least five business days for your request to be processed.
