Overall, males appear to have a greater success rate in obtaining a position; 21 percent of senior males who have applied for a job have obtained one compared with 17 percent of female applicants. However, much of the difference is related to academic major. When comparing gender differences in the majors that had the highest rate of job success there appears to be little difference between men and women.
